Lofoten Island Views

Composition eBooklette + Post Processing Video

It'd be reasonable to expect to have a field day photographing the ridiculously quaint villages that dot the Lofoten Islands and, for the most part, you'd be right! However, figuring out how to put your own unique touch on this area requires some outside thinking... and a bit a climbing. In this issue of Photo Methodology, I share my process of uniquely capturing this wonderful place.

  • There are two key stages in the lifecycle of a photograph. The first is the composition stage. With each issue of Photo Methodology, you are provided with an eBooklette containing my narrative and visualization process of identifying the final composition. You’ll be walked through my thought process of what works and what doesn’t work across a wide range of environments and scenarios. This eBooklette can be read on your computer, tablet, and smartphone.

Next is the post processing and stylization stage of a photograph’s lifecycle. Within your eBooklette, you will be provided with a unique link to a video screencast that takes you through my editing workflow using a variety of software including Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, ON1 Photo 10, and various mobile editing apps. Your unique video link gives you access to stream this video as well as download it to your computer, tablet, and smartphone for offline viewing.
